Saturdays, May 4 - September 28 - Ames Main Street Farmers' Market
The Ames Main Street Farmers’ Market depends upon the support of dedicated volunteers. We need volunteers every Saturday (May 4-September 28) to help with set-up and tear-down, visitor counting, manning the info booth, and helping with the cooking demonstrations. Volunteering at the AMSFM is a great way to get involved in the community and show your support for local farms and small business. Please consider giving your time with us this year. Here are the volunteer positions available:
-Set-up Crew (2 needed every week 5/5-10/27, at 5-6:30am)
-Attendance Recorder (4 needed once a month, May to September, 8-10am and 10am-12pm)
-Info Booth (1 needed every week 5/5-10/27, 8am-12pm)
-Cooking Demo (1 needed every week 5/5-10/27, 9:30am-11am)
-Tear-down crew (2 needed every week 5/5-10/27, at 12-1:30pm)
Volunteers will have access to parking directly behind businesses south of Main Street. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt to wear during the market. Check in at Tom Evans Plaza.
July 4 - 4th of July Parade and Festival
Each year, the Main Street Cultural District depends upon the support of outstanding volunteers to make the 4th of July Parade and Festival a success. Volunteers are need to watch barricades, help with children's activities, and parade line up. All volunteers will have a prime parade viewing location and a free t-shirt. October 12- Oktoberfest
The Annual Oktoberfest in Downtown Ames heavily depends on the support of volunteers. We will be needing volunteers on October 12th to make this outdoor event feauturing live polka music, delicious food, and good beer a success. Volunterring your time is a great way to get involved in the community, more information on volunteer opportnites will come as the event approaches.
