Scottish Country Dance

  • Octagon Center for the Arts 427 Douglas Ave Ames, IA 50010 United States

Scottish country dance is a form that started in the ballrooms and halls in Scotland. There are branches of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society around the world, this group being one.  The group runs classes in Ames and Des Moines and help to support and mentor Celtic Dance Society at ISU, a student group. This is a partner dance, yet no partner is necessary to attend. The fee is $30 for 10 weeks for use of the Octagon, and the teachers volunteer their time and expertise.
